Rare 1970’s Tomson, Splendor Series Mustang
Made in Japan, 1970’s, Teisco factory built
Obvious cosmetics and layout of a Fender Competition Mustang
Red finish (Dakota), three ply black pickguard, competition stripes
“C” profile neck, Rosewood fretboard
24 ¾” scale, 21 fret, 42mm nut
Faster and sleeker 12” radius board (compared to vintage Fender 7.25” radius)
Single coil pickups have great twang and sparkle with a nice midrange tone
They are wired in series, each with on/off switch
For a vintage 40+ year guitar it is in great overall condition
Awesome stage guitar, or a very cool entry level vintage guitar
Unique alternative Mustang, if you do not need “Fender” on the headstock
